The images look flat, not 3D. True per-eye depth appears inside the immersive "Stereoscope," on the Vision Pro itself — the flat grid is just the browsing library. Open a card and tap "View in Stereoscope."
A card looks slightly misaligned. Open the Curation Studio and nudge the Vertical slider until it fuses cleanly, then "Save Tuning for This Card." Your adjustment is remembered.
Does it work offline? The bundled Vault's previews work without a connection. Live search and the full-resolution master scans require the internet.

Stereopticon is built to respect your privacy completely. The short version: the app collects no personal data of any kind, and never sends anything about you anywhere.
Nothing. Stereopticon has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. We have no servers of our own and never see how you use the app.
Your favorites, hidden cards, recently viewed history, and any alignment adjustments you save are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Historical images are cached locally so they load quickly and work offline. You can clear all of it at any time by deleting the app.
To show you stereographs, Stereopticon requests images and search results directly from public cultural archives — the Library of Congress (loc.gov), the Internet Archive (archive.org), and Wikimedia Commons (wikimedia.org). These anonymous requests fetch public material. Each institution has its own privacy practices governing its servers. Stereopticon shares no information about you beyond the unavoidable technical details of any web request (such as your IP address, which any server receives to deliver an image).
If you export a stereograph as a spatial photo, the app asks permission to add that single photo to your Photos library. It only ever adds photos you explicitly export; it never reads your existing library.
Stereopticon is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone.
